IPLS has been developed by International Airline Support Group, Inc. as a method for all commercial / regional commuter aviation surplus companies to list their inventory in a standardized format on the internet. Currently their are other pay services on the 'net' that do not cater to the commercial side of the industry. These services are mainly geared toward general aviation with commercial inventories added as an afterthought. IPLS is willing to list any inventory or repair capability ftp'ed to their main server, at no cost. Furthermore, for a period of six months, IPLS plans to charge no access fees. This makes the use of the product free for both listers and inquiries. After the initial period IPLS will submit the prices for any new bandwidth or resources that may be needed to all members of the database in order to determine how monthly costs should be allocated. As more members are added the cost of the service will be adjusted down. IPLS is going to be run as a service to the commercial part supplier not as a profit center. IASG plans to pay for the service through the hosting of WWW pages on the IPLS server and member fees needed to maintain the network, leased line, and hardware.
