Boeing is set to produce a new aircraft. The new short range 7-17
has been certified for commercial use and has been cleared for production. The
100-seat plane was designed by McDonnell-Douglas before Boeing
bought out the company back in 1997. There are already 115 firm orders for the
seven-17, with options for 110 more. The first dozen of the planes will be built
in Long Beach, California, and delivered this year.
