Boeing is set to produce a new aircraft. The new short range 7-17 has been certified for commercial use and has been cleared for production. The 100-seat plane was designed by McDonnell-Douglas before Boeing bought out the company back in 1997. There are already 115 firm orders for the seven-17, with options for 110 more. The first dozen of the planes will be built in Long Beach, California, and delivered this year.

Under the agreement, Fine Air would acquire certain aircraft, support shops, and inventories as well as the operating assets and stock of Arrow Air. The deal includes 13 DC-8s and four L-1011s and approximately 130 jet engines (JT3-Ds, JT8-Ds and RB-211s).
